T67 Type Certificate and Design Data
Swift Aircraft has taken over the support and service provision for the Slingsby Firefly T67. This follows the revocation of the Type Certificate on 13 May 2019 by Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Limited and the issue of:
EASA Specific Airworthiness Specification: EASA.SAS.A.390
UK CAA Specific Airworthiness Specification: UK.SAS.A.0001
Swift Aircraft does not own the Type Certificate, because a surrendered Type Certificate cannot be reversed. Ownership of the original design data enables the company to supply original parts, or provide alternatives through the established modification process.
The T67 Firefly series — T67A, T67B, T67M, T67M-MkII, T67M200, T67M260 and T67M260-T3A — was manufactured by Slingsby Aviation Limited from May 1981 until production ceased in March 2003. The Swift group has a well-established link to the type: it supports many UK-based T67 aircraft, previously supported the Royal Jordanian Air Force fleet before its replacement with Grob 120TP, and refurbished 22 Slingsby T67M260 aircraft after their retirement from UK MOD EFTS service. Those aircraft now fly in numerous countries around the world.
